Oh my!
I'm afraid too many Americans can identify with this painting.
I like the composition with the car low on the picture plane at an uncomfortable angle at the bottom of a hill. It illustrates the theme very well.
And i like that your model is a 1936 Pontiac...a middle class car that came out as the New Deal started to promise a better future for the American Dream.
Your proportions and foreshortening are spot on. You did a really good job of capturing the lines and character of the derelict 1937 Pontiac.
You have a beautiful range of sunny day values here. And excellent technique on display here in the use of value changes and transitions to show the planes and contours of the body, as well as some great grass.
This is a very strong piece of work!
